Eira (Hips 5:4, Elbows 0:0, DM Clear) has been mated to George (Hips 2:3 Elbows 0:0, LTV, DM, Haemophilia A Clear) and puppies are hopefully due mid April.
There may be limited availability for male puppies.
My list for female puppies is currently full.

A sad day here today. We lost dear, sweet gentle Franki at age 12 years.
She had a recurrence of a mammary tumour, which sadly was very aggressive and fast growing, so we had to make that horrible decision to save her any further suffering.

Minka had 8 puppies born 4th July. She has 4 males and 4 females, all dark black and gold and all long coated. All puppies are now settling into their new homes.

My beautiful ZeeZee 28/7/2009 - 21/4/2023
I had hoped our lovely old lady would make her 14th birthday, but sadly her health suddenly deteriorated and we had to let her go to sleep today.
Always loved and never to be forgotten.

Jazzi unfortunately only had one black and gold male puppy by caesarian on 7th April (Good Friday). Both are doing well and are pictured below.
I am now waiting for Minka to come into season and I hope to mate her to a suitable male.
Therefore, the waiting time for a puppy will be at least late Summer 2023 or longer.
Occasionally a slightly older puppy or young adult may become available with myself or other reputable breeders, due to owners change in circumstances.
My waiting list is still quite long but I will start arranging appointments to meet a limited number of potential owners who are prepared to wait for their new puppy.
I do not add anyone to my waiting list who I do not know, without meeting the whole family.
Interest for puppies has increased and I am receiving an unprecedented number of inquiries by email and I do not have the time to respond to them all.
Therefore any inquiries will be dealt with much quicker over the telephone. We are very busy with the dogs, so the best times for phoning is between 10am and 4pm.

November 13th 2022
Anna had 10 puppies sired by Import Desjiem van de Herdersfarm. She had 8 males (3 black and gold and 5 sable) and 2 females (1 black and gold and 1 sable).

Jimmy has 'a' normal Hips and Elbows, is Haemophilia and DM Clear.
All puppies from this litter have now settled into their new homes.
I am hoping to keep a male puppy from this litter.

AN APPEAL FOR HELP TO IMPROVE THE HEALTH IN THE GERMAN SHEPHERD
Our German Shepherd Health co-ordinator is appealing for anyone who owns a pedigree German Shepherd, which has been diagnosed with (or has died from) any of the diseases listed below, especially Idiopathic Epilepsy or Haemangiosarcoma, where research is now being done with DNA samples from affected dogs
. Please contact her to help in a research project to try and irradicate genetic diseases, which can affect our breed.

Diseases being researched include:
Idiopathic Epilepsy
Anal Furunculosis
Skin disease (immune mediated)
Exocrine Pancreatic Insufficiency (EPI)

Degenerative Myelopathy (DM or CDRM)
Pannus and other genetic eye conditions
OCD and Elbow Dysplasia
Pituitary Dwarfism
Haemophilia A
Gastric Torsion or Bloat
Haemangiosarcoma
Crytorchidism
Heart problems and sudden death syndrome
The aim is to collate pedigrees and in some cases DNA samples of affected animals and eventually isolate genes in the hope that eventually some of these diseases may be eradicated.
This cannot be done without your help!

Klaus and I had a lovely afternoon at the Orders of the St john Care Trust Volunteers Appreciation awards ceremony. He and my other dogs bring so much happiness to the residents and it is lovely to know how much the volunteers are appreciated.

I am devastated that my beautiful Lexi was given rest today, aged 12 years, following a short illness. She seemed to be making a slow recovery, but made a dramatic deterioration on Sunday, which did not respond to intensive treatment. I could not let her suffer, so today we said goodbye. She is pictured here, enjoying one of her visits to our local care home, only 3 weeks ago. She was so special, I will miss her so much. Sleep tight my lovely girl xx

We celebrated Lexi's 12th birthday today. She is one of my very special Golden Oldies.
CHRISTMAS 2016
Klaus has been visiting a couple of local residential homes for several months now and the residents love his company so much, that we decided to take three of his 7 week old grandchildren in to visit the residents over the Christmas period.
The residents were absolutely thrilled and we even made the local papers! I think the staff enjoyed our visit too.
