Kiera puppies

September 2015
Dear Katrina,

Thought it was about time I dropped you a line to let you know that we are all well.
I can't believe that Galen is now 5 years old - the time seems to have gone quickly but it also feels as if he has always been part of our family. All our furry friends are well. Muppet (black lab) has just turned 9 years old and Scooby the second black lab will be 7 years old in October. The cats are both 5 years - 2 months older than Galen and our only new additions are 3 Golden Minnows who are also doing well but seem to be costing us the most in tanks, ornaments, food and chemical testing kits !

J.B. and Grace are both now in Senior School and enjoying every minute thank goodness. Philip is still slogging away as the local G.P. and hospital colposcopist. Philip's Mum is doing great at 84 yrs (Galen is her special friend) and my parents are still as mad as ever at 75 years a piece.

I hope you are well and enjoying life. I wondered how your parents are as I know they were older than ours and somewhat frail ?

I have asked Philip to put together some of our more recent photos so you can see Galen for yourself. Hopefully these should be with you in the next couple of weeks.

Take good care. Best wishes,

Anna.

Hi Katrina

Hope you are all well up there and enjoying the break between litters.

Fizzy is well and keeping me busy, she is getting better at just about everything, walking, being in the car, being in the crate, finding things to chew, finding ways to get into places she shouldn't.............. yes I agree with your caption, she is full of mischeif!! (Yes I liked the updates of the litter!) But she is great and I did want a lot of character, and she certainly isn't short of that :-) I hope I can bring out the best of her, I'll certainly do my best!

I'm continuing to introduce her to new people, places and situations each day to overcome some of her timidness and she seems to be getting bolder by the day. She has shown excellent temperament with adults, dogs, children and toddlers - everyone remarks how well behaved she is, she saves her mischief all for me ! She is good most of the time though :-)

I took her to the pet shop in New Milton yesterday and a couple saw me on the street and came over to ask if she was from Warminster, I of course said yes and the lady said that her brother had the other girl from the litter - Nixie I guess - in Totton!  What a coincidence !

Hope you like the pictures.

Best wishes

Fizzy (Kesyra Brunni) is a daughter of Kiera's

23rd Nov 2010
Hi Katrina

Fizzy is certainly a wonderful dog, a bit crazy and manic at times but more than makes up for it with some very endearing habits like doing a little dance before I feed her and she always makes a point of saying a big thank you after she has eaten or had a drink - I have never known a dog do that before. She does play with toys on her own although much prefers to play with someone or 1st choice would be another dog! She is building up a bit of vocabulary and it seems that sometimes I can bargain with her - i.e. you will get such and such as a treat if you do this now, after she has ignored the instruction/command a few times, it has happened quite a few times so don't think it is a coincidence. Other times she is very silly and almost uncontrollable if there is something interesting that has caught her attention. Hopefully she will get better if I continue the training regularly, but for 5 months old she is very good and has learnt a lot.

Certainly I think she is the best of the litter - but of course I am biassed!

Thanks again for organising the puppy party and to Julie for the cakes, and do let me know if there are any future reunions.

Thank you also for being so good at what you do and rearing such lovely dogs and being so helpful.

Will keep in touch

Best Wishes, Steve.

Hi Katrina

Thank you so much for your great After-Sales help and advice yesterday.
In seeing Fizzy at such short notice and diagnosing her limp, you saved her from being sedated and X-rayed, and quite probably a costly, unpleasant, and inappropriate procedure!
Fizzy is very happy that she is allowed to play with the ball again and I will try and make sure she doesn't overdo it too much.

It was very nice to see you and the dogs again, especially Keira, it is amazing how similar some aspects of her and Fizzy's personality are, but portrayed in a slightly different way.

Thank you again for your continued and very valuable support, Fizzy and I are very grateful indeed.

I will of course keep in touch and hope to see you all again soon.

Very best wishes

Steve and Fizzy xx

Hi Katrina,
Hope you are all well. We are doing fine. Galen is starting to have big teeth coming through but is coping with this ok so far.
We took all the dogs to the vets a week or so ago for the girls to have their booster jabs. We thought it would be good for Galen to go and not have anything going on but just to have the experience.
I think I've said to you before that our vet seems to be quite taken with him. He insisted on giving him a check over and generally made a fuss of him ! Muppet and Scooby were given treats by the vet for being good which of course they wolfed down. Galen was given one and he just looked at it, licked it and almost waited for permission to eat it! Vet commented that there were no labrador tendencies there inspite of the company he keeps!!
My parents, particularly my father think he is absolutely wonderful. They are finally talking about having another dog. (Their 15yr. old - lab. / newfie cross -had to be put to sleep in the summer of 2009). Having seen Galen, Dad says he would want a shepherd - probably a bitch.
I have warned them that your waiting lists are long because of the sheer quality of your pups but if they did want to go ahead I hope you would feel able to consider them as owners. They are both 70yrs. old now but both very fit. I have also said to them that age should not be an absolute bar for them as if they popped their clogs we can have the dog ! One has to be practical... !!!!!!
Anyway, I hope your Mum and Dad are doing ok. I do worry about mine but I don't know why really. My Mum's eldest sister is 80yrs. old, has just had a new hip and is running about like a spring chicken.
I will get Philip to take some more photos and send them to you soon. We have one ear up more often now. The girls at the surgery are desperate to see him and I think Philip will take him there in a couple of weeks.
I had better go and sort out lunch. Take care. Will speak soon.
Best wishes to all,
Anna xxx

Dear Katrina,
Just thought I'd drop you a note to let you know that we are doing very well at our obedience classes !
As expected Galen is quick to learn and very keen. He is also amazingly calm as there are a number of very "yappy" things in the class with us ! Next week we are going off lead and I have to say I am a bit worried. Fortunately the chap running the classes is a shepherd man so hopefully we should be ok.
People still ask Philip about Galen and he regularly goes to your website and shows them his pictures. We must get a good updated one to you soon !
Hope you are well. Best wishes to all.
Kind regards, Anna xxx

Dear Katrina,
Hope you are well and the new puppies are behaving themselves. Also hope Mia is happy in her new home. I was very very tempted to call you ! - perhaps if the children were a little older and Philip not quite so busy - I could have worked on him a bit more and then asked you if you were prepared to let us have her !!!!
Anyway, I thought you might like an updated photo or two of Galen with the girls. He is quite different from the original photo you posted of him with his new girl friends. I think in the original photo he is basically 7 to 8 weeks whilst these two were taken yesterday so he is approx. 2yrs. and 4 months.
We have had a few new people in the village recently and because he is quite big I think a few people have been worried - I usually say hello to them with Galen, ask if they are ok to say hello to him and then give them some of his treats. I tell them, " If you give him the treats with a flat hand, you might have the odd finger left" !!!!!!!!!!!!!! Quite often there is an initial look of horror, but then they realise how gentle he is and he usually gets a good fuss as well as his treats.
He loves going in the car and most mornings joins us on the school run. He also adores our postmen, Robert and Chris. He recognises the van and makes a beeline for it. I've supplied them with a box of treats so he bounds up to them and will sit for them so he gets his reward. With all the problems postmen can have with dogs (I've had to clean and bandage Robert's arm after a village dog bit him) it must be quite a funny sight - a 40 kilo German Shepherd charging towards the postie and then sitting down good as gold waiting for his treat !
Best wishes to you all. Take good care.

Hi Katrina,
hope you and the crew are all well.
After a few technical problems with the computer and camera, we are now very pleased to be able to send you a few photos of Remus in the garden, we think you will agree he is a handsome lad! A couple of weeks ago we took him to the beach (unfortunately we have no pictures) where he had a wonderful time making new friends. Remus is extremely sociable, walks well on his lead, sits at the kerb, does a novice recall and 'gives' on command. We are looking forward to joining our local training class.
Right now, he is crashed out in his bed after a nail clipping, ear cleaning, coat brushing session and photo shoot.
Andy and I have a few days off work w/c 20th September and would like to bring Remus up to see you if its convenient.
Glad you are back online.
Love Sandra, Andy, Rachael, Rob and Remus xx

Hello Katrina!
Thank you so much for your birthday wishes for Max! 1 year old already... time flew by...
Meant to send you photos ages ago, but always thought he looked better in the flesh!!
His energy levels and curiosity know no bounds.... and I let you judge his looks from the attached photos...( the puppy is my son's - the vet- He and Max are great mates... a 12 months old versus a 12 weeks old...)
All in all... he certainly makes our lives whole.... thanks again!
Hope all is well with you too!
All the best
Christine xx

December 2012

Our warmest wishes, Katrina, for a merry Christmas and a happy, healthy and prosperous New Year!
Some update about Max....He's a wonderful dog, very friendly, with a beautiful temperament...He's got bags of energy and still so playful...( he might never grow out of puppyhood!) and keeps us fit and young!!!
He's well known in Chiswick... the best compliment I get is when he approaches another dog or a puppy and his owner starts panicking and shouting to keep him away, someone else comes along saying:" Oh! Don't worry! It's Max!" ( it's happened many times!)
I hope you and your dogs are well..
Could quite fancy a reunion of all Max's siblings... out of curiosity...
All the best
Christine et Alastair xx

Hi Katrina

I trust you and the dogs are all well.
Just thought I would give you a update on our gorgeous Kace !

He is proving to be an outstanding member to our family, he is such a quick learner and is doing so well at the training classes we are going to start some Agility classes in a few weeks time.

He loves his walks through the woods and fields.

His one bad habit is that he has taken a liking to my slippers and seems to want to sleep on them !! But I end up with hairy toes each time I put them on now!!!!

At times he has selective hearing although Kellie says he takes after me with that !!!!

He really is a joy to have around and is such a character, everyone we see says how good looking he is and what a beautiful colour his coat is.

He is a true credit to you for breeding such incredible dogs.

Will send you some more photo's soon.

Best wishes

Andy Macbeth

Thought I'd send you a picture of Kace and a little update.
He is just the best ! He adores the kids and although likes to play a bit rough
with me is a gentle giant with the kids and even sits with Emily our 2 yr old
why she plays with her tea set !!!
He loves his walks and is superb on or off the lead.
He has turned into a very loved and important member of the family.
Will defiantly have to pop down one day to see you and the dogs and let u see
what a lovely dog Kace has turned into.
