Welcome to Kesyra German Shepherd Dogs

Kesyra German Shepherds is a small dedicated kennel breeding two or three litters each year of sable or black and gold German Shepherd puppies. I try to breed as closely to the 'breed standard' as possible; however I will never compromise temperament and health for 'fashion'. I firmly believe that a good temperament in the German Shepherd Dog is of paramount importance and many of my adult dogs and youngsters visit our local care homes, where I do voluntary work. The dogs bring so much pleasure to the local residents, many of whom have had their own dogs in the past.

ZeeZee is pictured below with one of the residents at a local care home.

Most of my puppies go to pet homes; therefore I aim to breed puppies who are friendly, sociable and eager to please. Some of my puppies also do well in working and agility homes.
My dogs are not exaggerated with overly sloping or long, weak backs and wobbly or over angulated back legs, they have correct back-lines and firm, strong hocks.

I am a licenced breeder with Wiltshire council and have been awarded the highest rating of 5 stars.
Licence holder: Mrs Katrina Stevens.
Licence number: LN/000015222

I am a Kennel Club Assured Breeder and also a signatory of the Breed Council Breeders Charter, ensuring the highest breeding standards and lifelong after sales care.
Details of the above schemes can be found in

GSD Health and Information (Health Checks)

If you have not owned a German Shepherd before, please take a look at my page:
German Shepherd Information (about the GSD)

before making the decision to take on this breed.

Please note, the puppies pictured on this page do not represent those for sale.

I bred my first litter of German Shepherd puppies in 1985.
We live in Wiltshire, close to the Somerset, Dorset, Hampshire and Gloucestershire borders in South West England.

Each litter is carefully planned to maintain the correct conformation, quality, soundness and temperament.

Any adult used for breeding has a faultless character and is healthy.
They have all of the health checks recommended by the Breed Council, are hip-scored (with hip scores better than the breed average for several generations), elbow scored, DM tested and males are tested clear for Haemophilia A.
From 2011, I have started testing my breeding animals for some genetic disorders where DNA tests are available.

A table of hip and elbow scores received for Kesyra dogs since 2006 is listed on 'Whats New'

All Kesyra puppies are reared indoors and are treated as part of the family, so are fully familiar with the home environment. Quality standard coat and also long haired German Shepherd puppies are sometimes for sale and very occasionally I have a slightly older puppy available to a suitable home.

I have black and gold German Shepherds available at Stud to approved hip scored bitches of good character.

I hope you enjoy your visit to the site.

Please note: I always have a waiting list for my puppies and insist on meeting all potential owners/families before they are added to my list.
I am extremely mindful of where my puppies are homed and I like to keep in contact with all of my owners, many of whom have become my closest friends.
We also have a Facebook group for my owners or those on my waiting list, where we chat, share photos, ask any questions and post information.
I offer a lifetme of after sales advice and support and Kesyra puppies or adults (and owners!) are always welcome to come back and visit.

When purchasing a puppy from me, all owners are required to sign a contract at the time of sale.
This is to protect both the owner and the dog.

My contract may be viewed here

I do not export my puppies outside of the UK.

I do not add anyone to my waiting list until we have met in person. I am very happy to chat on the phone, with a view to arranging a visit if potential owners are happy to wait for their new addition. Having a puppy is a long term commitment, so I need to be sure that my puppies are going to suitable homes.

I am still receiving a large number of emails at the moment and I do not have the time to respond to many of them, so any enquiries for puppies will be dealt with much quicker by telephone.

Thank you.
